You will need: 1 Roll broad masking tape 1 roller and paint tray Basecoat of Wash ’n Wear Silk in chosen shade (shade 1) Chosen shade 2 for wash 100mm Brush Mutton cloth Dura paint technique glaze Colours used in this setting: 4R2-6 : Brave Blue

STEP 1
Mask off all cornices and skirtings carefully with masking tape. Over white walls, paint on your lightest colour in acrylic PVA (Shade 1) with a roller. Leave to dry for two hours and thereafter paint a second coat.

STEP 2
Use your chosen top colour (Shade 2) mix Dulux paint technique glaze in a 5 litre container, by using 1 part glaze, 2 parts water and 1 part acrylic PVA in top colour. Mix enough for the whole area.

STEP 3
Dip a brush into the glaze and remove any excess. Apply the paint to the surface in a haphazard criss-cross pattern.

STEP 4
Using 20 x 20cm square of soft, mutton cloth immersed in water and wrung out, rub the glaze in circular movements as if polishing your car; for combined effect rub in semi-circles; for a cloudy effect rub in circular movements. Work quickly before the paint dries, keeping your leading edge flowing until you reach a corner.

STEP 5
When dry seal with Dulux Dura Glaze.
